The Serve

January 31, 2010 2 comments

With the Australian open concluding yesterday, I thought of sketching something relevant to that. Hence ‘The Serve’.  The toss , the strike and the follow up have been captured. I used HB and 2B pencils in this sketch. “Captured in motion” series is one my favourites, this sketch adds one more to the collection.

Skiing

December 30, 2009 3 comments

I recently made a road trip to Wolfcreek, Colorado. We skied for a day, took pictures and had fun. After coming back I realized there wasnt a single pic which actually showed us skiing. So this toon is for all of us who skied. I am the ‘speed-racer’ leading the pack…

I have shown the sketch in two parts, one before and after shading. I used 3B and 4B pencils here.

Javelin Throw

4 more rasas left..getting a bit monotonous.. Just took a break …

AlsoI wanted to try something in different genre.  This one depicts his  strides moments before the javelin is ‘off’ his hands….This one is truly “captured in motion”..Simple sketching with 2B pencil.

More charcoal…

Just when i thought things were going gud between me and my pencil, little did i realise what happened. The fingers of the hanging person didnt come out that gud, i tried to correct it and the result —the mess was more messier!!! That didnt stop me from posting it nonetheless:P

Few other titles that crossed my mind… kai kodukum kai, udavum karangal….
